Welcome Knight Austin Kiplinger
TODAY WE ARE HONORED TO PUBLICLY WELCOME Knight Austin Kiplinger to the board of directors of the Potomac Community Foundation.
Knight, a native of Washington, D.C., and steward of an historic farm in Seneca, Md., known as Montevideo, has long been active in the civic life of the District and Montgomery County, with a special focus on the arts, history education and historic preservation.
In addition to his new role with the PCF, he is board chair of Historic Medley District, the historical society of western Montgomery County, and has long supported such organizations as DC History, Montgomery History, Mount Vernon, and Tudor Place. In the arts (where he performed for decades as a choral singer), he is a past board chair of The Washington Chorus and trustee of Levine Music and other organizations.
Knight is editor emeritus of The Kiplinger Letters and Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine, published by his family from 1923 until 2019, and divisions of Future LLC, a media company based in the United Kingdom. He is also chairman and CEO of Outlook, Inc., a closely held real estate investment company, and head of The Kiplinger Family Foundation.
(For this portrait, Knight is seated inside the tavern of the John Poole House, the oldest building in Poolesville. The building was restored many years ago by the Historic Medley District.)
